The old, "If it's not Christmas, it must be the 4th of July" problem (used to
be my origin line, but when I dropped this echo last time, I deleted it and
haven't gotten around to putting it back). Some UFO believers point to
something in the sky and if they figure out it's not an airplane (for
example), they declare it must be aliens. I've actually seen the head of
MUFON do this (with the radar "sighting" in Michigan a couple years back).
