No kidding -- I actually went out and bought _Horse and Hound_, the UK weekly
about horse goings-on, just to get decent coverage of the dressage and
three-day. Why should I have to buy magazines imported from ENGLAND to find
out how the American team did, I really don't know! I'm eagerly awaiting the
August 8th issue to get the results of the show jumping and Dressage
Freestyle. H&H doesn't devote enough space to give a blow-by-blow account,
but they did list all the scores for the top competitors completely broken
out by judge for the dressage and by portion of the event for the eventers.
And I got a great picture of Bruce Davidson and Heydey from the trot-up --
Bruce looked very sharp in his US team uniform of red blazer and white shirt
with snazzy tie and white straw hat with a red band. Looked much nicer than
the guy they showed from the winning team who was running along in his
shirtsleeves with the end of his tie tucked into his shirt. Okay, so we blew
the team competition, but we won the fashion show. ;-)
