Hello Gerhard,
LL>> Trump came in and told everybody he was going to "make America
LL>> great again." He really had nothing else to say.
GS> Which basically means, he had nothing to say at all.
That's about the size of it.
LL>> Neither candidate was popular with the voters. But at least with
LL>> Trump, people knew what his message was. With Clinton, nobody had
LL>> a clue. Why is that? Because Clinton did not have a message.
GS> By message you mean something with up to five words that don't even make a
GS> whole sentence?
When we speak, most of us speak in sentence fragments. Rarely
in complete sentences. That is why Trump went on tour speaking
live in person to as many people as he could. He knew the news
media would cover the events, and being the showman he is and
always has been, this was to his advantage. In that type of a
campaign, facts don't matter. It is not what people read, but
what they hear. And the folks who heard Trump speak liked what
they heard.
GS> Do you think it would have helped if she used phrases like, let's say
GS> "Fighting for us", "Forward Together" or "Stronger Together"?
Well, she tried to explain. And explain. And explain. But it
seems nobody was listening. Except maybe her.
Trump entertained a crowd. He knew how, having decades of experience
in that regard. Clinton had to hire performers (such as Beyonc‚ and
Jay-Z) to put on an act in order to entertain a crowd.
For a politician to win election to the highest office in the land,
he or she has to be entertaining, not smart. People could identify
with Trump, not with Clinton.
Trump said in public what most folks say only in private. The views
he expressed are what most people in this country agree with, including
those who did not vote for him. It doesn't matter if what he said had
any factual basis. He expressed what most people thought to be true.
