Exactly the concept. Ok so now if you believe in time travel, if you can
look back in time to see the past you are replaying the movie, if you look
forward in time into the future you are replaying the movie. The only way
to replay the match is to actually go back or forward in time and change
something.
That change something part is an event where something from outside the
timeline (the time traveler) is changing the timeline. Without that outside
influence nothing changes, the future is as set as the past.
The only thing that keeps us from seeing this is our point of view, because
we can't time travel and because the universe is too complex for us to
predict, we use the excuse that our lack of understanding of what is going
to happen means that what is going to happen isn't already fixed.
It's like explaining a solar eclipse to a civilization that doesn't
understand the solar system. They would think you saw the future but it's
simple math and understanding how things work that allows us to know
exactly when an eclipse will happen.
