I'm having a hard time visualizing the interior.  If the SIPP-like boards are 
oriented vertically and the SRAMs are horizontal, is there some type of bridge 
between them?  There would almost have to be.

Applying heat blindly would be a last resort.  A few of them are fractured at 
the base and ready to break off :-(.  This thing is truly built like a piece 
of crap, to be honest.

If I can get an X-Ray of the unit, I'll try some Dremel tool surgery.
