subject: Connection Problems

Hello David,
MR> I have the same problem. it appears its a bug common with Telix
MR> as well as a number of other comms programs. It seems to be
MR> connected with the original signal that comes down the line.

My original problem of non connection has been fixed (sort of), thanks to
Bill Grimsley. My second problem of Telix for Windows not making a correct
estimate of download time, seems to have corrected itself, and now seems to
be ok. However, I now have another problem, in that while I can connect ok to
the PCUG Mail exchange, I cannot do so to Custom Built BBs. The modem picks
up the BBS ok, and starts the handshake, but drops off every time after about
10 secs, and Telix continues to countdown to 30secs, and then hangs up. I know
Custom Built is not the problem, as on a couple of occasions, I have picked
up my other handset and listened in (after the drop off), and Custom B is still
trying to make a connection.
This problem only seems to be with CB BBs??? I can't find anything in the
manual which will help. However, because of my lack of knowledge on the sub-
ject, the answer may be there, but I can't interpret it :(.
Any bright ideas??
TIA..............Warwick.
