Hi Mike, WE> WE> have a problem with Telix interpreting the time for download, WE> whereby the WE> WE> original estimated time will be a ridiculuosly low 0.5 WE> WE> minutes (or so), but WE> WE> the actual time might be 5 or 8 minutes. Any bright ideas? > MR> I have the same problem. it appears its a bug common with Telix as MR> well as a number of other comms programs. It seems to be connected MR> with the original signal that comes down the line. MR> With a 14400 modem with 42 bis on the original connect will come back MR> as 38400 and Telix appears to use that speed to calculate the transfer When I first installed my modem (internal) it worked perfectly, apart from the problem with actually making a connection, and I never had any problems at all with Telix for Windows. The problem with the estimated time for download only seems to have occurred since I started fiddling with the result codes command on the advice of Bill Grimsley. However, the incorrect estimated time does not seem to interfere with the actual speed and accuracy of the download, so if I do not find out why it is happening it doesn't worry me too much! Most of my downloads come thru at 3100 -3200cps approx. Incidentally, I previously had a 14400 internal USR Sportster, and it never gave me any trouble at all, and neither did Telix. Thanks for your thoughts.
