Um, I don't know that this is the problem, but are you aware that some
FidoNet systems don't take kindly to allowing points to file request?

The trick is, it's polite to ask first.  :-)

BTW, it is also a lot more polite to send person-to-person mail via netmail
rather than posting to a public conference.
