From: "Glenn Meadows"
On the feeding poison, I agree. Both of these Choc. Labs were the greatest
dogs, very gentle, playful, and super intelligent. There are some really
mean people out there. Both dogs were properly fenced in, NEVER ran loose,
always had plenty of food/water. She has a dog door in the kitchen, so the
dogs can come/go to the outside as they like, and stay out of the heat when
she's not home.
If Spencer survives, I'd be concerned that whoever did this, might do it again.
And this just in from her...
just talked with the vet.
actually not great news. he said she is improving in some areas, but it
still is very. very critical with her and there are some areas where she
has gotten worse. my mind is a whirl so i'm not even sure what he said at
this point, other than i recall him mentioning her internal bleeding - with
the doses of vit.K he's been giving her she is now clotting within 7
minutes - he said that has greatly improved since yesterday - normal is 5,
she was 30. On her own, her blood will not clot for at least a month he
said, so she will need to remain on vitK for a long time...
what he's now really concerned about is her red blood cell count and the
amount of oxygen in it. those numbers are incredibly low. he's doing all he
can to help that, taking more tests, taking xrays soon...... she is not so
bad that she needs a blood transfusion yet though. he wants to be
optimistic in that she is slightly improving, but he said quite honestly
her condition is very poor. Tonight and tomorrow are going to be very
critical for her... so please just keep her in your prayers..... she needs
it!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you,
t
