Mmmm .... this Maximus bbs shows them,  so they do escape the 
Wildcat bbs into fidonet and serve to signal the author's 
departure from the echo.

Ta - but when I read then offline, nary a word about offline 
control of echoes downloaded into QWKs.

Maximus always adds a `recent files' list to its QWKs, but 
provides no way to add a specified file to a QWK download either.

Leastways, on this bbs's implementation.

Dont get the idea that I am unhappy with Maximus, however;  I've 
found all its versions most dependable on the bbses I've used over 
the years.
