All throughout history, some people running a lot of spiritual energy
have found themselves feeling an impending doom, either for themselves
or for the whole earth. This has led to the formation of religions and
sects (7th Day Adventists), wierd biblical writings (Revelations & the
Noah story) and other assorted impending doom reactions.
I'm beginning to believe that this  is a fact
of religious life for some and would like to find some writings or
studies on this phenomena.
I did find out there there was a rash of these kind of things at the
turn of the century (1900). All this millennia stuff is building up now.
It is kind of funny in a sick way. Don't these people know that our
calendar was invented by one monk, who may be so far off the mark that
we probably have already passed the millennia of the birth of J.C?
