I'm all for "serious" research, and for all the
"so-called" serious researchers accepting input from outside
their incestuous relationships, but am adamantly against the
"GroupThink" crap that's going down right now; where more than a
few billion has already been spent on the "back patting pass me
another Chivas" BS that's been going on.

I'm reminded of the spotted owl crap that all the "Sierra" types
piled on with for decades -- including the maiming of innocent lumberjacks
with "tree spikes" to get the misguided point across. As it
turned out, rather than the big bad old lumber companies (no doubt wholly
owned by "Halliburton") cutting down trees being responsible, it
was bigger owls eating the poor little spotted owls that lead to their
demise.
