subject: a matter of concern

Hello Everyone,
I've been blind all my life, and was astudent at the Iowa Braille and Sight
Saving school up until 1968.
I've been concerned over the school's insistance on remaining affiliated with
the National Accreditation Council, nac, based in New York City.
Nac has been shown to be harmful to the blind community, and I'm aappalled
that students at the Iowa Braille And Sight Saving School still must be
subjected to these folks. If nac were actually doing something to ensure
that accredited agencies actually provide true eeducation for their students,
it wouldn't bother me so bad.
I've not been involved in the mainstream of the movement, but friends who are
have been giving me plebnty of information to read, and it really bothers me
that
Nac is still in business, and is still represented in Iowa.
I haven't been moved to write on much, but this issue is something I feel
strongly about. I want the blind kids of this and future generations to have
better opportunities for learning and growth than I had.
