subject: Question #1!

Hi Gerald,
(Sunday April 05 1998 10:59) Gerald Miller to Ted Menks about: Question #1!
GM>>> Uhmmm. I'm not sure if I want to be _blamed_ for "advising" on
 GM>>> *bad* techniques...
 TM>>
TM>> Well, maybe you shouldn't regard it as "advising". *You* just pointed
TM>> out that it was possible, and *I* just mentioned my unawareness of
TM>> that fact. I never said I was ever going to use it ;-)
GM> I'll remember that for the next time I'm scrutinizing one of your
posts...
I'll even allow you to quote me on this... ;-)
GM>>> see someone commenting that more than one "/" for multiple
 GM>>> switches may be unnecessary.
TM>> Claus Mueller is that "someone", telling me about it. And he may be
TM>> very right, too... (another bit of honey )
GM> My humble apologies to Claus. No slight was intended.
Claus will accept them, I'm sure ;-)
/Any use for CTTY ?/
TM>> if you want to control the system from
TM>> another one at DOS-level, while lacking true network-capabilities...
GM> Never tried that, but I'll take your word for it...
I've tried it a few times, but the power of such practice is highly
overrated, if you ask me. But _my_ word isn't sacred, of course. ;-)
/No BATPOWER access/
TM>> My German uplink now supplies me with al the goods, *including*
TM>> BATPOWER. :-) EOD (end of discussion ) (Consider a Dutchman as a
 TM>> German point ;-))
 GM> EOD!
Aren't you, by any chance, the same Gerald Miller who started uttering
something to me in the BATPOWER area about me being unable to get there ? ;-)
GM>>> By now, you've seen the posting (hardly ever boot with
GM>>> COMMAND.COM and I don't feel there is an overwhelming requirement
GM>>> for the batch to work with that COMSPEC).
TM>> Reasonable. I NEVER boot command.com, unless I've screwed up my
 TM>> 4Dos.com in some fashion... ;-)
 GM> Not you???  Wouldn't think you could do such a dastardly deed... ;}
Oh yes, me! I've succeeded in killing 4Dos.com, by using an
executable-compressor once, while persuing more efficient disk-usage ;-)
`UCEXE 4Dos.com` certainly killed the poor thing! :-)))
Talk to you later,
