VFOS is the Video FOSSIL driver, which is only required for color
screens in Binkley.  The communications with the modem requires a FOSSIL
driver (in DOS versions.)  IIRC, the OS/2 and Win32 versions do not
require a FOSSIL, as they can use the OS serial port support.
