The sailors in Sub Service are a wild bunch.

Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard is a sub base and they would come in afer being
out for weeks and be a bit off - 'touched' perhaps? I don't know how to
explain it, but there's a good reason they keep women off serving in
submarines. They're nuts.

The maintenance we did in the units they lived in over in the enlisted
housing - Admiralty Village in Kittery - they did the most damage - there
was an interservice housing arrangement and the other servicemen, the army,
marines and air-force families were fine.
