Hi, Roy - LTNT!
Yeah, a lot of it is still being used. Even the DOS stuff finds a home
with a lot of embedded controllers. I use it constantly. Right now, I'm
using the general-purpose queue functions and the mathstat package in an
embedded project running on a 68332 (the QQ.H/C stuff runs well because
I last tweaked it to run on a 68332 when I was writing modem firmware for
Compaq).
I used the getopts() processing writing utilities to run portably between
Win32 and Solaris while working for Motorola/Metrowerks in 2001. I use
stptok() almost everywhere and have used Ray's scalar date package in
numerous contexts as well.
The goal of SNIPPETS is portable C. As such, the good stuff really doesn't
go out of date if it's written to the standard and implemented properly.
The only reason I was able to get by with neglecting it for so long is
that it does still work so well in a variety of settings.
