subject: Qmodem Question

WV>Have you used the Win95 version? Does it work as well as ver 1.53?
WV>I've got the Win95 ver 2, just haven't installed it (still in the MSI
WV>box). Just wondering if it improves the modem performance, or not.
WV>Till
 Bill,
I first got Qmodem Pro for Windows 1.1, I had trouble with my
scripts. I found out that QM PRO for Win v.1.1, couldn't send the
letter "o" , (for Offline Maid Reader), in a script. I sent it back
to MSI and got QM PRO 1.52, about 3 years ago, upgreaded it to v.1.53
   about 14 years later.
MSI fix the Script Language, in QM Pro v.1.11 for Windows.À
I have been using Scripts, to send my ".QWK" packets to my mail
directories, (other than my download directory). A script is the
only way I can do this.
I got Win95 v.2, on the last day that I could get it for $50.00.
I installed it, and started to rewrite my scripts for Win95. I found
out that I could ONLY send my "QWK" packets to my download directory.
I was not happy with this, so I went back to the DOS version. The
Script Language is a lot easer and I can do more with it. And I don't
have to recompile it after ever change I make to it.
As for as Windows Communications goes, QM Pro for Win95 is better
   by for.
Maybe it is that I'm just not a Windows person. And if you are,
and don't use scripts a lot. Give it a try.
I hope this will help you. If you do install it, let me know how
   you like it.
                                    Later...
                                            Fred
