Funny that you conveniently neglected to mention to Adam that this is with
the Viper's adaptive answer disabled.  It might have been useful to tell
him that enabling AA just happens to turn it into one of the most
unreliable modem that I've ever called.  As a modem, they're fine, but as a
fax/modem, no way.
