Fortunately I don't make public policy so I don't have to formulate an
answer.  I will say that if I am ever in the position that Terry Schiavo
was in, then I would want the tubes removed.

No we did not.   Terry Schiavo's husband was acting on her behalf,
*according to her wishes*.   I believe that her siblings confirmed
that she had indicated such during discussions before she took ill.

I think that people should get what they want, and if people of sound mind
want to die they should be allowed to do so, with assistance if necessary. 
People have just as much right to death as they do to life.
