Well, Here I sit, missing time from work because I have the flu for
the second time in two months.

I was hosed down with my first case of the flu this year because I
work in a very close environment to my fellow workers. Yep... Cubicle
City.

About 5 months ago the company hired a lady..... 40 years old.... Big
Boobs...... Flirtatious...... Red Hair..... and a BIG MOUTH. I don;t
mean a loose talked but just very outspoken and opinionated..... even
if you don;t ask for it.

In any event this woman introduced herself to our team as a 40 year
old mother of two who didn't HAVE to work.... but she WANTED to work
not so much for the pay but and this is a quote "to get out of the
house and back into the swing of things".

I did a little checking. She had been a marketing manager for a
grocery chain that is prevalent in the South East. Their corporate HQ
is in our town so I made a couple of calls. I like to know who I am
working with.

Turns out this "lady" had been married to a lowly grocery store
manager. Had two kids by him and after 11 years of marriage divorced
him. She had mentioned several times.... almost like bragging.... how
she had dumped the "Jerk". Well, as events turn up she married, within
her FIRST year of divorce, one of the grocery chain's Senior VP. And I
MEAN Senior.... This guy is in his late 60's.

Now I find out that this guy and his new Big Boobed, mouthy bride live
in his $450K house in one of the most exclusive areas of our city. She
drives around in a brand new Escalade.

In her 5 months of working here I have kept track of her absences.....
She has missed no less than 14 working days due to children being sent
home for illness to a gas leak at her house to a 6 day "vacation" in
Holland with hubby.

And this "Dedicated" woman felt so compelled to be at work in the
third week of January that she just HAD to come in and "Tough it out"
(her words) when she was in full blown flu. She passed it to me...
amongst others.

I missed the last week of work in January cause I had the flu bad and
didn;t want to pass it around. I also missed my last week of selling
and thus missed out on over $700 of bonuses. To date, I had not missed
my goals in the 12 months I have worked for the company.

It doesn't end there though.

1 week after she passed the flu around the office (she was the FIRST
one to have it) she was promoted to Team Leader..... after only having
been with the company for 3 months. That's all well and fine.... I
mean she had some experience under her belt (no pun intended) but
several other capable people who have over a year with the company
were passed over for this promotion.

Now, two weeks ago she pops up with the "opportunity" to go with hubby
to Amsterdam for 4 days and is given the time off. She takes 6 days
due to the snow storms in the North east and being stuck for 2 days in
Philly.... (A bus ride would have taken 16 hours... So much for
dedication!!)

Now, she comes back into work last week on Wednesday hacking and
coughing again.... so dedicated to her work that she just HAD to be
there. Thursday she comes in and brags to me about working through a
99.8 fever..... Still virulent!!!!

I raised hell with senior management about it. She was finally sent
home at noon.... but not before several of us were infected again.

So, as per my title, here I sit again.... with the flu...... missing
work again.....

Because some "lady" at work was so dedicated to her job that she
couldn't miss a trip to Amsterdam but HAD to come in to work sick.

Y'all tell ME how I should feel about this.

I am highly pissed right now. TO the point that when I DO go back to
work I want to confront this BITCH and air a piece of my mine if
nothing more.
