It's not abandoned; it's open source.

The author's office got burglarized and the most recent backups of the
HS/Link source code, along with the author's computer system, were
stolen.  So he released a previous version of the source to try to make
sure that HS/Link would still be developed if people wanted it.

Pretty nice thing for him to do.
