Just to nitpick, EXIT_SUCCESS is part of the C Standard (it is found in stdlib.h).
JB> it's basically the unix analogue of dos.h
unistd.h is similar to many DOS/OS2/Windows compiler's io.h. Among other
things it's where you'll find prototypes to work with file descriptors (as
opposed to FILE streams), eg. open(), read(), close().
