-=>Quoting Holly Sullivan to Carol Shenkenberger<=-
MH> Can anyone tell me how to get my gladiolas to stand upright?
I don't have any, but I found someone who does! She says she has to
stake most of hers, though she has found that the deeper the corm is
planted, the less of the stalks need the support.
She also wanted me to pass along some other information just in case
you didn't have it.
Corms should be lifted in the fall. The top part should be cut of
closely, the withered old corm removed, and the new corm stored in a
frost-free location over the winter. Dust with an
insecticide-fungicide before storing. If you do leave them in the
ground, they tend to have fewer and smaller blooms in later years.
Hope this helps and if there is anything else I could ask her just let
me know.
Myra
