>Hey everyone
>What are we working on today? Project check! What's in play for you?
Lots. The current writing project is non-Trek, set on my "alternative
geog= raphy" Earth,
and is a sequel to a story I wrote twenty years ago. It's not likely to be=
posted since
it's not Trek, but there are Trek references in it.
For the "Athena" site, lots written, not all that much edited
yet. I'm get= ting ready for
the second editing pass of "Traitor's Son" (parts one and two)
and "What Li= es Behind."
I've read through the hard copies of these stories, and know where I need
t= o make some
changes. Now it is just a matter of making changes and getting the stories=
ready for
posting. The holiday season does eat into time (I lost the period I set
as= ide on Friday for
this, unfortunately), but I'm excited about both stories.
I've actually written all the way up to "Tribal Rights," and the
three list= ed on the website,
"All's Quiet on the Antispinward Front," "Pursuit and
Capture" and "Conflue= nce" (parts
one and two) have all been plotted out and are ready to go. I'm actually
e= xcited about
"Confluence" (the only question is how far to press the reset
button, but i= t definitely won't
be pressed all the way, just a little). The novel "Starry, Starry
Days" is=
written and I've
edited it once. I need to do the second pass, but I'd like to make sure
th= at if I post it
by the chapter, there are not long lags between the chapters appearing. It=
's another
story I like. I'm thinking about another story to come before
"Confluence"=
and two that
will follow. The stories that follow will form the start of series three,
= so there are changes
coming. Right now, it looks like "Until the End of the World"
might have s= erious ramifications
for Captain Thorpe.
>I am rebuilding my website so the HTML code doesn't suck
I've often thought about "Athena 2.0," and I have some ideas I
would like t= o try, but a revised
and new website is a *lot* of work, and something I might not have the time=
for right now.
I look forward to seeing Jay's new site.
>I am working on ST-OM 51,
And one day we'll actually get to read it.
>I am working on Bendross 34
These seem to come more often.
>and I might be thinking about dividing ST-OM 52 into bite sized chunk for =
ease
of writing and posting.
That's the approach I first wanted to do with "The Flag At the Edge of
Spac= e," and then I simply wrote
the whole thing and posted it all at once. A seriel is an interesting idea=
, and I stared something
with "The Gaze of Night," but that is three years old now and
still has not=
had any segments posted.
I've written twelve of what could be an open-ended story (I know how it
end= s, but not fully yet how the
story gets there). Maybe I'll pick that up some day and finish it.
There'= s also "The Sun God Saga"
and "Starfleet Journals," where I do the number-one fan fiction
sin of inse= rting myself into the story.
One thing is for sure, there's no shortage of things to do.
