Peter, at 11:07 on Jun 05 1996, you wrote to Dave Hatch... PC> Any idea why USR are doing this or do you think it was just a bad PC> batch of Flash Roms. USR use two types of flash-ROM chips, Intel and AMD, and it turns out that there was a bad batch of AMD devices. PC> Intentional or just sloppy SDL control?. Purely accidental. Some of the AMD chips had their higher segments internally flagged as "read-only", so when the larger SDL tried accessing these segments, the chip shat itself. RTB replacement is the only cure here, BTW. :( Regards, Bill @EOT: --- MsgedSQ/2 3.30* Origin: Logan City, SEQ (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 625/100 640/201 206 230 305 306 311 SEEN-BY: 640/702 820 821 822 823 829 690/660 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 SEEN-BY: 711/899 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 640/305 820 711/409 808 934 |
