Subject: re: Re: MR. MAGOO CONCERNS
Just after the Magoo resolution was passed, and the press release was spread
throughout the country, my wife, (who was not at the convention), heard a
talk show about the issue. The host was asking whether we were "complainers"
who are overly sensative. She called in, and had a lengthy and detailed
discussion with several other callers about the issue of Mr. Magoo, about the
JOB program, about the Newsline for the blind program, etc. In short, she
was able to raise the public's awareness about the organized blind, and blind
person's capabilities. She also talked about the perceptions about blind
persons abilities, etc.
Then, just last Monday, another talk show discussed the issue for an hour,
and the host was very supportive of our position. Several callers attacked
our position, and others were on our wave length on the issues.
All in all, this is pretty effective, don't you think?
