Hmmm..
I ran a public Access BBS for over 18 years,
and one of the configuration options that I imposed,
was that all validated new users, were given "Read" privilages,
and ONLY got "Write Privilages" to local message area,
and required Sysop intervention, before given "WRITE" privilages
to any Fidonet Echo topic that left my system, with my originline..

that solved a lot of potencial problems with
 characters logging on and gaining instant
write privilages under any name..
