JP> Two days and nights I was up with her ..... she was so good as after
the
JP>1st time that she tried to lay down she NEVER tried again
JP>..... I had ASK her NOT to lay down -- and, she didn't
JP>....... not until right at the very end when she very
JP>gracefully went down (and I knew she was dying and I'd been
JP>begging her to just lay down) ..... and she put her head in
JP>my lap (I had kneeled down with her as she lowered herself
JP>to the ground) ..... and then she passed away with her head
JP>in my lap ........ oh darn -- here come the tears again
Jean, that must have been a very difficult moment. I honor your ability to
stay with her to the end. You were very brave and strong to face that fear
and aloneness. I'll bet that when she stopped breathing, the silence about
ate you alive. Tears are good, let them come.
JP> Yes, but you get to see her -- and jus think of how
JP>good she'll be when she comes back home !!
I hope she'll be good. She's such a stinker. She's very smart, however.
That makes her training both easier and harder. She anticipates things
and gets very bored with details.
JP> That will change -- right now she's bonding with her trainer. YOU
eed
JP>to spend more time with her - if only grooming her or just
JP>plain talking to her ... Take her a "goodie" each time you
JP>go to visit ..... spend "quality time" with her each time
JP>you go to see her. Pretty soon Phoenix will be LOOKING for
JP>you to come
I'm going up on Sunday and hopefully I'll ride her. I can't wait! With the
Olympics, she got put on the back burner. Stephanie got tickets to many
equestrian events and didn't get much done. So, she's giving me three weeks
extra to compensate for the time spent away.
