Good for you. IMNSHO, you may be developing/practicing the reading
program that will eventually be the forerunner of a complex program
involving the best of the whole language process and the phonics
process. We need more research that suggests the exact balance that
will provide the best education for the most children.
DT>Huked on fonics werked for mee.
I saw the t-shirt at our state fair last week - laughed out loud despite
the curious looks from passers-by.
I once attended a convention at which one speaker took teachers to task
for not involving themselves further in educational research. He
indicated that if teachers didn't explore the best ways of teaching,
then others would. He closed by indicating that if teachers didn't get
involved in research that would lead to the production of quality
textbooks and curriculums, the next program we use might be right from
the shelves of K-Mart.
