| subject: | USR Sportster, I`m impressed. |
Once upon a time, Peter Collis spoke thus to David Drummond:
TM> Any idea where can I find an upgrade ROM to take my Sportster
TM> to V.34+?
DD> If it's the Austel approved model, then nowhere.
DD> I was speaking with one of Brisbane's major USR dealers last
DD> evening at the PC-96 re an EPROM upgrade for Jill's Sportster.
DD> He said that no further development of the Austel Sportster ROM
DD> was being carried out.
DD> It's the end of the line . . . .
PC> Wonder how the Austel Sportster would handle the Yank EPROM seeing as
PC> the Oz Courier seems to run ok on the US code.
I was wondering the same thing myself. For the US Courier code to
run on the Australian Courier, I believe that code had to be
"hacked" in some way. Otherwise it wouldn't work properly.
If the Sportster setup is similar, I guess the US Sportster V34+
code would also have to be "hacked" for it to work on the
Australian Sportster too.
If anybody has access to the new code and would like to try it, I
am willing to allow my Sportster to be used as a guinea pig :-)
Adios,
