You just claimed "air support" stuff would have been prohibited
and that would have crippled Saddam's ability to deal with terrorist camps.
That is/was a provably false statement -- unless of course the UN was
favoring terrorist camps in Iraq and would have denied Saddam such
permission.

McPeak has been highly critical of Bush.

Indeed, indeed. Wonderful question.

Why get permission to zap something you have no interest in zapping?

Now you're impaled on the horns of a dilemma.

If Saddam did *NOT* have interest in zapping Zarqawi, then plainly he was
guilt of "harboring" terrorists - which is exactly what I said
originally and you objected to, trying to misdirect the discussion in some
"link" direction.

If he *DID* have an interest in zapping them (which was never reported
anywhere that I'm aware of, indeed even you seem to doubt ever happened)
then that would be prima facie evidence there were in fact terrorist in
Iraq - something you've been claiming was not the case.

Bottom line here is that I think I've definitively established that there
WERE in fact at least two well known terrorist organizations operating out
of Iraq (MEK and Zarqawi), and whatever Saddam's desires for their fate, no
action was taken against them - indeed it appears MEK was actively
supported.

Really, Bob - isn't it about time for you to take the political blinders
off here and evaluate some hard evidence instead and forget about the
political BS for just a few minutes? I have to be honest - I'm not
enjoying doing this to you at all - but it is necessary.
