LE>> NetComm BBS, your modem is in fact a repackaged AutoModem E7F and LE>> the manual is 100% applicable. RL> I was under the impession that the first of these were in fact a 16bit RL> M7F clone not the 8bit E7F??, as mine is 16bit. Did they change these?? I have never seen a 16-bit Avtek (unless you count the 16/32-bit 683xx-based FlashModem, which is in fact a Motorola-DSP-based beastie). Simple way to find out; pop the cover and if you see an 86-pin PLCC chip with a Rockwell logo on it and a C29, C39 or C40 (C2900, C3900, C4000) designation, your modem is 8-bit. ATI3 reports the controller rev in std Rockwell firmware but NetComm nobbled it so it reports nothing useful. -- Lewin A.R.W.
