Hello, Robert. 30 Sep 04 22:16, you wrote to me: RJ> I parted with that program, when it clamed a few files have virus in RJ> them (it was the tic file part), when they didn't (from 1:261/38, my RJ> hub), got tired or moveing them, move over to tinytic, if they had RJ> virus in them I would have know, from another program (McAfee) would RJ> told me so I have never, ever used virus scanning as part of a regular upload routine to my system. I run a network-wide virus scan once a night to check for things and in the six years I've run a BBS, I've never once had a virus in an archive or a file, thankfully. The only time I ever got viruses was when I opened mail like an idiot without checking it. Since I'm back to running Windows, I use AVG, which is has a plugin for OE, that scans all incoming and outgoing mail as it goes in and out of my system. Haven't had a virus since. ;) Later, Sean --- GoldED+/W32 1.1.5-31012* Origin: Outpost BBS - outpostbbs.us (1:18/200) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 18/200 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
