Until you have been here for a while it is hard to explain the concept of the
race relations in the United States. I've lived in Europe and the African
Origin people who have settled in the countries I have lived over there:
England, Germany, Luxomburg, and Italy Identify themselves as English, German,
whatever the citizens of Luxomburg call themselves, and Italian.

In the United States they don't call themsleves Americans they call themselves
"African Americans" vs the "Non African Americans". My family has Irish roots
and I can prove my Ancestors came over to pay debt on an indentured servatude
contract that equated to slavery. Do we make a division and hold the non irish
cacuasion people accountable for things their ancestors did over 100 years ago
no... yet I hear from the African American group stories of how their ancestors
were slaves and some want reparations to this day.

Quite honestly I feel we are all equal here in America, but some feel they are
not I much prefer to believe Dr. Martin Luther King's vision that all men
should be judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin.
Which is something I see myself striving to do every day, but it is not the
case still to this day in the USA and the predjudices go both ways.

Until you have lived here, witnessed it, had someone who was black get nasty to
you for no reason than you are white... or worse have someone feel offnended
because you did something that they though was racist and you did not mean it
that way (I placed my coins on a counter to count them easy as I had a pocket
full of small coin. When I had the right amound I slid it over to an older
black lady cashier so she could swipe them off the edge of the counter into her
hand to put it in the register and she snapped "the black won't rub off" in
offense that I did not pick them up and put them in her hand) it is a different
vibe here. I think that the African immigrants who have settled in Europe a
few generations ago have integrated into your cultures... not always the case
here in the USA.

Furthermore, I don't know if your country had African slavery, but it was
BRUTAL and shameful. I am thankful those times will never ever happen again...
but they happened... and what was done can never be undone.
