subject: Dynalink modems

Hi All,

Does anyone have experience with Dynalink modems? I came across this add
recently on a BBS. Although they seem very cheap, I was wondering what one
would get for the money.
Following are the details from the add.

Dynalink V.34 28,800 External FaxModem $310
Dynalink V.34+ 33,600 Internal FaxModem $275.

It is claimed that they are US robotics compatible, Austel Approved and have
a 5 year warranty.

My questions are:
1. are they worth buying or just too good to be true?
2. are 33.6k modems worth buying anyway because of the telephone system we have
in Australia.

That is assuming of course that someone can be found to connect with.

I currently use a Maestro 14.4 but it will cost around $250 to convert it to
28.8k. This is of course just $25 less than a brand new Dynalink 33.6 as
mentioned above. This is the reason for asking.

Hoping someone can assist.

Cheers
Nev.
