Mine is a 1984 model with the `peanut end' as you call it. They're
not all that great, but it seems that I found one of the better made
ones and I've been quite with it as a tool for songwriting.

Interesting. My friend is quite happy, but if anything, he says he
could stand a little more bottom end from his. Hmmmm.... ;-)

Having a mike there really restricts your movement though, doesn't
it? I think that whatever acoustic guitar I get next, I'll probably
have a good quality pick-up installed in it. Just for the convenience
factor in live situations.
