subject: CPS Rates

SM> I use Telemate 3.1 for DOS under Windows 95. This CPS rate (3500) is
SM> achieved usually error free on all files, compressed. When the files are
SM> not compressed in ANY WAY I might get cps rates of roughly 4000cps

Run your comms program under raw DOS and compare the cps rates. Running
this software inside any multitasker can interfere with elapsed time
calculations.
