I don't fly but I do plan on racing, just got my RC10 in about a
year and 2 months ago. Bashing around in yer backyard doesn't take
much yer right but it still takes some skill to keep everything in workin
order especially in un-controlled conditions.

Exactly, racing takes as much set-up as any R/C sport! All the
choices that they have and you HAVE to make the right one.

That would be awesome, to hvae such caliber come out of your hometown.
