Subject: Quoting
May I ask a favor?
When replying to someone else's message, PLEASE don't quote the ENTIRE
message to which you are replying. We've all already read that message at
least once before, and don't need to read it over and over again.
If you need to quote the original author, PLEASE, only quote that part of
the message that is relevant to what you have to say. Seldom, if ever, is
the entire message relevant, unless it is a one or two line message in the
first place.
Many members of the list pay for internet usage by the minute, or by the
amount of data downloaded. Additionally, those with speech synthesizers
are unable to skip over all the redundency. And those who have a little
vision must struggle to read text that is irrelevant.
In the Mr. Magoo thread that seems to be so popular, we are all terribly
concerned about how others who are sighted treat us. Let's set the example
by being compassionate and understanding towards ourselves on this List and
quoting wisely.
I thank you, as I'm sure we all will, for your understanding and
co-operation.
