Close to it, From memory the only setting i change from a std &F1 is
to turn off MNP5 compression and go for the V42bis or nothing setting.

I've never had to fiddle with S27 to get connects so far.

Just put it down to one of those strange phone line things. Do you
remember a few months back when i was complaining about a system i
call where the USR would get a 16800 vfc connect but the Netcomm M11F
could only get a 4800 at best, Well Telstra fixed the line out there
and now the M11F gets between 26400 and 21600 but the USR refuses to
connect and hangs up with a XID Timeout error unless i force a v32bis
connect which works fine, modem at the other end is the same with same
settings (Simple VFC)
