They were signing people up for a blood drive in my building, so I signed
on, taking the "Am I Able To Donate?" medical FAQ to read over.
Hypertension?  Fine.  High cholesterol?  No problem.  Diabetes?  Good to
go.  Based out of Holy Loch, Scotland?  Whoops.

Seems that more than three months total in the UK in the '80s and  early
'90s is disqualifying, due to Mad Cow Disease.  Of course, in Holy Loch
they only served lamburgers, but it looks like I don't get a free T-shirt anyway.

And my doctor had said that an occasional blood-letting (he said
"donation", with a gleam in his eye and a fleam in his hand)
would be beneficial.  Tell it to the Red Cross.
