RAISING A BUSINESS
Taking care of your baby!
As the owner of my own desktop publishing business, editor/publisher
of various publications, and sysop of a bbs. I look at each of these
operations as my children, they need tender love and care.
The birth of each was a joyous occasion, each were planned too.
Then came the cost of supporting them thru there infancy, but love is
a funny thing. You will do anything to see your offsprings grow up
and become successful, or at least be able to support themselves.
DTP is the elder, Pub's the middle, and BBS the baby. I love them all
the same, but as any parent can tell you. There comes a time when it
seems as though you are playing favorites. BBS needs a new hard drive,
but DTP and Pub's wants more memory. What is a parent to do?
Well I remember what I was told as one of six children, needs comes
before wants. So guess who gets what? BBS thats right.
I have great expections, and confidence that each of my offsprings
will grow up to be self supporting, maybe even have a family of their
own, but until that day I will continue to support them and make sure
that their needs are met.
I'm proud to say that I fathered them. How about you, does your baby
or babies make you proud? Please don't abuse or neglect them.
There should be a law against it. Well gota go I hear one of them
calling me now.
