  this has to do with " martyrdom ."

  the Greek word " martyr " appears in some translations of Holy
Scripture and is otherwise translated " witness " as it is in
Acts 22:20;  Rev. 1:13;  Rev. 17:6
" Thy martyr Stephen "... or... " Your witness Stephen.

  Stephen is largely recognized as the first martyr but it was really
Abel who was the first real believer being killed for his relationship with
Christ, which Cain did not share in, but being self-enraged that his way to
God was the right way to Divine favor, offered his good works as a sign of
atonement rather than that of Abel, who approached God in faith with his
sacrifice imitating the sacrifice of Christ.

  to be a martyr in the Bible sense of the word one must be put to
death for his open belief in Jesus Christ and the gospel of grace alone,
just as Abel did;  for no one is saved by good works, nor is there
salvation in any other but Jesus Christ.

  today, we have scores and scores of people claiming to be martyr's
as they kill themselves and anyone else un-providentially near by.

  this is not martyrdom.  this is suicide and murder.

  the belief that dying for gain is common in the hearts of reprobate
minds as they think they are doing God a service by suicide and the murder
of children and adults as the sing the praise of Satan their god... who was
a " murderer from the beginning " just as these are.

  martyrdom is and always was an act of being killed for the witness
to the gospel of grace of Jesus Christ.  outside of this context martyrdom
has no meaning.  it is purely Biblical in origin... an event where God
calls upon His chosen one to make the ultimate sacrifice to be His witness
in spirit and in truth of Jesus Christ.

  oddly enough, Pope Urban ll is responsible for issuing the same
decree as the religious fanatics in Islam today, during the time of the
crusades, offering eternal life and the forgiveness of sins to his knights
who would make this ultimate sacrifice.

  this is odd since here we have a fellow claiming to be Christian,
the exact representation of Christ, advocating murder as a means to eternal
life and forgiveness of sins... just another way of saying, " I am
God, die for Me. "

  just as the Islamic clerics who advocate suicide and murder as a
means to eternal life while they sit back out of harms way and watch, so
too did Pope Urban ll in offering peace with God through violent means.

 serving Christ in spirit and in truth does not evidence itself by
advocating murder nor committing it... such is the work of Satan and his
sheep.  Joh. 8:44

  the definition of a coward is " someone who strikes out from the
shadows unbeknownst to the victim "... the same exact definition as
pre-mediated murder. Pope Urban ll as well as the Islamic fanatics, are
nothing more than cowards, pre-mediating the murder of people these have
deemed unworthy to live, as they strike out from the shadows... with the
added feature of never getting blood on their clothes.
