(On our Public Radio this a.m.)  Accents are a lot lighter than in the
1930s, when the classic "English dialect" 78s were cut.  And
they're *worldwide*. Very informative, and chastening, for the future-soon
day when the average English speaker will have a Bengali accent with
Mexican overtones.
