You have looked at science fiction?

Some of those folks have whole spaceships that qualify as single organisms.

If anything pops out of one of those, it is likely to be a sensory probe,
some sort of resoruce gathering actuator or spores (or some combination
thereof) - and those need not look very much like us at all, unless - of
course - they want to ;-)
