Concentrating on the higher earning passenger versions makes sense given
the backlog. However A design of this size is designed for a long life
& within 10-15 years there will be a lot of 380 freighters (given the
747's usage pattern).

If it is more economical for shifting greater volumes of freight then it
will sell to freighting companies (once the passenger orders are dealt
with).
