CA>YE> Hello people. What English area do you know where I can
CA>YE> improve my English exept this one?
CA>TA> We generally like to be addressed as "folks" rather then
CA>TA> "people"
CA> "WE"? The corporate 'we' or Royal 'we' requires either a
CA> corporation or being 'royal'. On FIDO it would be 'I' or 'me'.
CA> I don't want to be addressed as 'folks' thank you very much and
CA> 'people' is fine with me (note the first person).
We folks in Boston don't suffer such paranoiac auxieties about
Royalities, nor the corporate entities that helped us become one
of the more successful societies in the modern world Charles.
CA>TA> and "accept" would be more correct then "exept" in this
CA>TA> context if you don't mind my mention it Alex.
CA> You misspelled 'except' and 'mention' should be 'mentioning'.
CA> ESL anyone?
CA> Yura was correct it is 'except' not 'accept' - they are not
CA> interchangeable and you are wrong about this Thurston Ackerman.
CA>TA> I suggest you might find it useful to participate in some
CA>TA> of the several genealogy echos; where just about everyone
CA>TA> is viewed as a "newbie" (slang for new unexperienced users
CA>TA> 8-)
CA> Its not "unexperienced" it's "inexperienced". Argh!
You have exposed the fact that my ability to spell correctly has
not really improved; even after having to study 25 words every day
of a summer vacation >60 long years ago.I appreciate your attempt
to overcome that error in my use of proper composition; but it is
obvious to eveyone you are wasting valuable time for both of us Charles.
CA> 'NEWBE' is not slang it is an abbreviation for 'NEW BEGINNER'.
I guess I have spent too much time on the internet where the term
"NEWBIE" is more often found used then "NEWBE" in my experience.
CA>TA> and many may be looking for information on ancestors that
CA>TA> have immigrated from old world countries.
CA> "Old World"? Try 'Europe', it's less patronizing.
You attribute more Machiavelian abilities to me then I could ever
manage Charles. Many of us have ancestries outside of Europe, so we
family genealogists try not to be too limiting in our research reach.
CA>TA> Ciao, Ack.
CA> How continental. 8)
Been there, done that; but that salutation is more a results of
association with my Italian relatives of the past 62 years.
CA> Let me guess - Thurston Ackerman III - right?
Sorry Charles, you aren't perfect after all. No, only Thurston
Fuller Ackerman II; and I didn't inflict it on any of my progeny
(but other Ackermans have not been as kind to their progeny 8-(.
Ciao, Ack.
