reporters."

For the non-Euros out there .....when the wonder wot iz de euro came
along....it was milk & honey for all....

& yet..


"United States will grow this year below the EU growth rate and
slightly above the euro area growth rate"

So....the average EU growth rate is higher but the average for those inside
the Euro is lower....thus meaning that those outside must be growing quite
considerably faster to make up the difference.

So who's got the milk & honey?

The figures are repeated futher down:

"''2006 was a remarkable year, with growth driven by domestic demand
thanks to an improved labor market situation - 3 million jobs created of
which 2 million were in the euro area,'' the Commission said.

It also raised its figures for growth last year, saying the euro zone
expanded 2.7 percent and the entire EU by 2.9 percent. In November it
predicted 2.6 percent growth for the euro zone and 2.8 percent for the
entire EU."


Admittedly this is in large part due to the east europeans wot ave a lot of
catch up to do (e.g. Poland growing at 5-6 % etc) & who aren't in the
Euro.
