Sounds like Wellington. Could have been recent - the Duke of Edinburgh has
been replanting at Windsor. Other famous tree planters have been the Duke
of Devonshire at Chatsworth growing beech commercially and the Duke of
Buccleuch - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/152671
The latter did actually lay out his 70 miles, but all on his own ground.
